FAQ
Steam cleaning, or hot water extraction, is the method used to clean carpets, rugs, and upholstery. The process includes four steps: vacuum the carpet, spray detergent on, inject water into the carpet with a high-pressure jet spray, and vacuum the water out.
This is the preferred method of carpet cleaning, as it is the most effective one and is recommended by manufacturers. Steam cleaning invigorates and prolongs the carpet life.
As carpet is a breeding ground for mites and bacteria, they should be cleaned professionally regularly. It is recommended to steam clean carpets on a yearly basis for the average household.
However, some factors may affect the frequency at which the carpet needs to be cleaned, such as smoking inside the house, and the presence of young kids and/or pets in the house. In those situations, it is recommended to have a carpet steam clean performed at least twice a year.
